Wish Fountain Springs Up Donation
During Catawba Furniture Mall’s “New Look” celebration on March
14th, Habitat For Humanity was presented with a $600 donation.Â
The furniture mall’s “Make a Wish” fountain was dedicated
several years ago to support the Habitat for Humanity organization and its
mission, “Building in partnership with God’s people in need.”Â
Steve Ikerd, president of Ikerd Enterprises
and owner of Catawba Furniture Mall, presented Mitzi Gellman, executive
director of Habitat for Humanity with the donation.Â
Commenting to Ms. Gellman during the presentation, Mr. Ikerd said,
“As long as people continue to make wishes at this fountain, so will the
monies continue to go to support the Habitat program.”Â
Remember, helping someone is just a wish away.Â

Make a Wish Fountain
In the lovely atrium entrance of the Catawba Furniture Mall is a fountain
where visitors young and old can make special wish (or two). With the flip
of a coin not only can your dreams come true, but also you can help the
folks at Habitat for Humanity of Catawba County. All the proceeds collected from the
fountain benefit this worthy organization. Come, make a wish…
A Solid Line Up for New Retailer
Heritage Home Furnishings located in the Catawba Furniture Mall is proud
to present two new lines: Vaughan-Bassett and Virginia House. Heritage
Home welcomes these two brands to its new home fashions lineup.
Vaughan-Bassett and Virginia House are well-known for their own heritage
of great quality solid wood furnishings and affordable pricing. These two
brands fit perfectly with Heritage Home.
A signature collection from Virginia House, the Louis Phillipe collection,
reflects the style and grace of the early 1800’s in France. Smooth rounded
shapes of the case pieces accent the collection, and the graceful style of
the beds reflect the period in time in which it existed. The simple
keystone hardware adds to the rich, warm, dark cherry color of the group.
Can you say ooh la la!
Design elements in this collection provide solid wood construction,
including drawer sides and backs, English dovetailed rear drawer joints,
wood back panels stained and lacquered, dust panels between drawers and a
multi-step finessed finishing process. Since the collection is of solid
wood construction, no two pieces will be identical. The variations in
grain and coloring are natural and enhance the beauty of this solid wood
furniture. All of this quality and at a price you can live with.
Vaughan-Bassett is no stranger to solid wood construction and
affordability. Classic collections “Rue Royal” and “Jubilee” emulate the
brands heritage. Also find a vast collection of entertainment centers and
youth/children’s furnishings. Little ones slumber blissfully in the
“Authentic Shaker” bunk bed made from solid birch and finished in rich
cherry. This space saving bed has a ladder for easy accessibility to the
top bunk and a guard rail for added security.
This is definitely a solid line up for Heritage Home Furnishings.

Hickory N.C. Store Leads U.S. Sales
About Last Nite® leads US in sales of Legna
As of October 31, About Last Nite in the Catawba Furniture Mall was
leading the nation in sales of Legna by SDH. Legna is a collection of
linens for the bed and bath woven from Europe’s finest new natural yarn. A
new generation of cellulose yarns, obtained from the wood pulp of managed
forests grown for harvest in accordance with Europe’s strict environmental
guidelines. This sumptuous fabric combines the luster and soft drape of
silk with the familiar ease of cotton.
“SDH is thrilled with the success of our latest introduction Legna. The
response nationwide has been fabulous”, stated Catherine Stemmler, Sales
Manager for SDH. “However, the rate of sale of this new fiber in North
Carolina has been truly outstanding. About Last Nite, a premier retailer
of SDH linens, has proven how successful independent stores can be when
they believe in a product” continued Stemmler.
“This product has to be seen and touched to be believed” stated Regina
Garriga, managing partner of About Last Nite. “We began getting this
product in last fall and as soon as it came in we would sell out. We often
have customers call us back to tell us how much they love our products and
when they call back about this product they are raving. We tested this
product in our homes and are impressed with its performance, durability
and ease of wear.” “As with all SDH products they have kept the customer
in mind. This product has a 17” gusset in the fitted sheet and an
oversized top sheet to fit the oversized mattresses. All pillowcases have
a covered button closure so they also can be used as a sham as well as a
pillowcase. This products is offered in six colors available as sheets,
pillowcases, duvets, shams in all sizes, bedskirts and coverlets.”
About Last Nite also showcases the Legna towel collection. It is also a
wood fiber product and as with the sheets it is silky to the touch.
Garriga stated, “This is truly a European styled towel. It is not as thick
as the 100% cotton towel and is banded all the way around each product and
is offered in 12 colors. When we tested this product it felt like you were
washing your face with a piece of silk. This product also solves the issue
of using fabric softener on your towels. Any fabric softener with a
petroleum base will coat your towels and linens and they will eventually
become less absorbent. With this product you do not need fabric softener to
get that soft silky towel because it naturally feels that way.”
To experience the Legna Collection, visit About Last Nite in the Catawba
Furniture Mall 828-324-2830. Store hours are Monday – Saturday 10-7.
